A pair of burrowing owls keep a look out in this charming picture. Arizona bird photographer Mark Koster spotted the birds on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Scottsdale Community College, where they have a habitat. He explains: “They were burrowing owl parents playing “Security Guards” by watching over their owlets”. The burrowing owl is a small, long-legged owl found throughout open landscapes of North and South America. They can be found in grasslands, rangelands, agricultural areas, deserts, or any other open, dry area with low vegetation. (Photo by South West News Service)
