People look at the ocean sitting on the remain of a bunker from the Atlantic Wall, on May 19, 2024 near Cap Ferret, Southwestern France. The Atlantic Wall, ordered by Adolph Hitler and built between 1942 et 1944, was about 5000km long from Northern Norway to the French-Spanish border to defend occupied territories to be attacked by the sea side. 15 000 of them were planned to be built, but due to insufficient manpower and material, only about half of them were completed.
