Ivorians take part in a parade on the last day of the 44th Popo Carnival in Bonoua, some 60 kilometers south of Abidjan, Ivory Coast, 22 April 2023. The carnival of Bonoua is the Ivorians version of Mardi Gras running for a week. Derived from a celebration of the cultural heritage of the Aboure people, the Popo Carnival involves gastronomic competitions, beauty pageants, sports days, a festival of traditional dances and reflection workshops on Popo museum amongst other activities.
