Hundreds of spectators gather at Cooper's Hill in Gloucestershire, UK on May 29, 2023 to see the annual cheese rolling event. For over 200 years, the annual cheese rolling festival has been an integral part of Gloucester culture. Each year daredevil participants hurl themselves down the 300 yards Cooper's hill to lay claim to a wheel of cheese and bragging rights. Attracting people from all over the world who are determined to keep the world-famous tradition alive, Cooper's Hill has played host to the Cheese Rolling extravaganza since the 1800s – with the event traditionally falling on the late May bank holiday Monday.
