Field researchers from the Mamiraua Institute of Sustainable Development capture a rare Amazon river dolphin, also known as the pink river dolphin, during an expedition aimed at assessing the health of these animals and installing a GPS tag to monitor their movements and how they react to the heat in the lake during this year's drought following the death of 300 dolphins last year, most of which were in Lake Tefe according to the project head of the Mamiraua Institute, in Tefe, Amazonas state, Brazil, on August 19, 2024.
