Members of the Island Sailing Club from the Isle of Wight and the Royal Southern Yacht Club meet for a cricket match played on the Brambles Sandbar in the middle of the Solent annually. The Sandbar emerges from the sea for about half an hour each year when the tide is at its lowest. The matches began in the 1950s and the winner is decided before the game is played.
