View of a Dominican hicotea turtle (trachemys stejnegeri vicina) at the Professor Eugenio de Jesus Marcano F. Botanical Garden in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, 28 October 2024. The garden spans over 650,000 square meters dedicated to conservation and environmental education. Its first phase was inaugurated on 23 April 2018, and to this day it continues in constant development. In the first bird inventory carried out in 2017, 23 species were identified.
