Researchers have uncovered a re-inhumed Middle Kingdom sarcophagus in Luxor, Egypt, as part of investigations carried out following the discovery, in 2018 and 2019, of sarcophagi on the same site, a member of the mission said on December 29, 2024. The discovery was made on December 16, 2024, at the very end of a two-month mission, the director of the University of Strasbourg's Institute of Egyptology, who took part in the mission, confirmed to AFP, confirming a report in the regional daily Les Dernieres Nouvelles d'Alsace (DNA).
