Mulletfest is an event that honours the best “mullet” haircuts in various styles and categories, including “everyday”, “grubby”, “ranga” (red hair), “vintage”, “extreme”, “international” and “junior”. This year’s “head to head” battle for the best mullet haircut attracted contestants from all over Australia, and one finalist from the UK. The competition began in the Hunter Valley town of Kurri Kurri in 2018 as an effort to save a family pub during an economic downturn.
