Humans and Animals

The female southern poodoo baby ”Adora” sits on June 5, 2025 in a box on a scale at Cologne Zoo in North Rhine-Westphalia – she weighed 1325 grams. When fully grown, they weigh just between eight and twelve kilos – and yet they are real deer: southern pudus are considered one of the smallest deer species on earth. Two young of these endangered and rare animals were born at Cologne Zoo at the end of May. (Photo by Rolf Vennenbernd/picture alliance via Getty Images)
