Experts are working on a 1,100 year old, closed-mouth amphora (a jug used in ancient times) that was removed from a shipwreck during underwater excavations carried out with the help of robots off the coast of Kas, Antalya on April 22, 2025 in Antalya, Turkiye. As a result of the excavation carried out within the scope of the “Heritage to the Future Project” of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry, samples were taken from the material inside the amphora removed from the shipwreck at a depth of approximately 45-50 meters and an analysis study was initiated to determine what was removed.
