A man cools off in street tap water during the heat wave. Severe heat wave warning issued by The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in some districts of the Southern part of West Bengal, India on April 25, 2024. On 25th of April the highest temperature recorded was 42 degree Celsius which was approximately 6 degrees higher than the normal. IMD experts also said this to be continued till 28th April, 2024 due to dry wind which continues to blow at lower level from west and north west India over the region.
