A baby Lar gibbon, also known as the white-handed gibbon, born 3-weeks-ago at the Spaycific'Zoo, is held by its mother in Spay, near Le Mans, western France on August 15, 2025. Fidji and Pepito, its parents, have been living together since the summer of 2022. This birth is important for the protection of this species, classified as "Endangered" on the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) Red List, mainly due to deforestation in Southeast Asia.
