Amelia Gray the polar bear made her debut at Brookfield Zoo in Chicago on Wednesday 10 September 2025. The playful and curious Arctic beast explored all areas of her new habitat – including a plunge to explore her new pool – and enjoyed a variety of enrichment like rib bones. The eight-year-old recently arrived from Oregon Zoo and is a powerful reminder of the critical need to protect this vulnerable species, which research projects that up to two-thirds of the polar bear population could disappear by the end of the century.
