The Burqa in Modern Afghanistan

In this Thursday, April 11, 2013 photo, Alim Nazery, left, owner of a burqa store in Kabul's old town market for 27 years, bargains with an Afghan couple about the price of a new burqa in Kabul, Afghanistan. Alim, as well as a wholesale business, remembers selling at least 50 burqas a day when the Taliban were in charge and enforcing their strict morality rules. Now that number has dropped to 20 and most are sold to women who travel from areas outside Kabul to buy from him because of his reputation for quality. (Photo by Anja Niedringhaus/AP Photo)
