“Father Ali”. Father Ali with his niece. He is one of the oldest townsman alive in zanzibar's stone town. With his age of 92 he is a living contemporary witness of the history of Zanzibar and telling his story automatically tells the story of the hard-fought island lying in the indian ocean. It was a pleasure to meet him and listen to his storys. Location: Zanzibar, Tanzania. (Photo and caption by O-young Kwon/National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest)
