“One chooses their happiness”. In November 2013 I spent 3 weeks traveling through turkey. Towards the end of my trip i was walking along the bosphorus when I saw these two men sitting and talking. neither spoke english but I asked if I could take their photos using a creative series of hand gestures. They obliged and as i snapped a few frames I was struck by the contrast between the two men – both relatively the same age but one dressed to the nines and seemingly just happy to be alive the other quite the opposite. I remember thinking that I can only hope I am that pleasant, and that well dressed, when I reach my late life. Photo location: Istanbul, Turkey.
