Chen Guangbiao, a Chinese recycling magnate worth approximately $400 Million, speaks with two severely deformed women, one of whom he claims to have paid for plastic surgery for, during a lunch he hosted for a group of approximately 200 homeless people, at the Boat House in Central Park, on June 25, 2014 in New York City. Guangbiao, performed magic tricks and gave away money to homeless people, who were brought in on buses from New York City Rescue Mission. “I have visited the U.S. every month since last November, I see many homeless people, poor people on the streets, searching for food in the garbage bins”, Chen said about his latest charity donation. As the event ended, confusion and frustration erupted amongst the attendees, as Guangbiao had promised each person $300, but later revoked the deal and donated $90,000 to the New York City Rescue Mission instead.
