The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) recently released their Best of 2015 list, featuring a variety of animals, weather conditions and landmarks. Included in the list are gleaming auroras, adorable groups of otters and owls, and breath-taking shots across the likes of the Grand Canyon and national parks. (Photo by Caters News)

The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) recently released their Best of 2015 list, featuring a variety of animals, weather conditions and landmarks. Included in the list are gleaming auroras, adorable groups of otters and owls, and breath-taking shots across the likes of the Grand Canyon and national parks. Each of the spectacular shots, all of which were taken during 2015, featured on the Department of the Interiors Instagram account throughout the year, taken by both members of staff and members of the public. Crew in Britain's first ever full-size reconstructed sea-going Bronze Age boat, paddle out to sea near to the National Maritime Museum as it makes its maiden voyage on March 6, 2013 in Falmouth, England. With a crew of of 18, equipped with Bronze-Age-style wooden paddles, the 15 metre long experimental vessel – a replica of the sort of craft used for long-distance trade between Britain and the continent 4000 years ago – will be used to test prehistoric seafaring methods in a project in collaboration with the University of Exeter and the Falmouth-based National Maritime Museum Cornwall. Rare Sand Kittens in Park "Safari"

A sand kitten walks at her enclosure at the Ramat Gan Safari near Tel Aviv. Four sand kittens, considered extinct in Israel, were born at the safari park, an open-air zoo, a statement from the safari said.
