Tourists use a selfie stick on the Trocadero Square, with the Eiffel Tower in background, in Paris, Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Selfie sticks have become popular among tourists because you don't have to ask strangers to take your picture, and you can capture a wide view in a selfie without showing your arm. But some people find selfie sticks obnoxious, arguing that they detract from the travel experience. (Photo by Remy de la Mauviniere/AP Photo)

Funny Selfies By Helene Meldahl

The time of selfies with duck faces is long gone and ridiculed, though some persist in doing it. Helene Meldahl, however, didn’t want to give up the trend, but had to think of a creative way to keep doing it. So she decided to create comical pictures by drawing over the selfies that she has made. Some people just can’t stop taking pictures of themselves. It makes you wonder, what they would do in an era before the existence of cameras… Oh, poor souls, they would definitely suffer greatly without the possibility of sharing on instagram their “stunning looks” and the pictures of food that they eat every 2 seconds. In this August 14, 2014 photo, a plastic bust statue of Kevin Micelli, center, and his family, made by a 3-D scanner and printer, sits on a shelf inside Micelli's coffee shop in New York. Micelli purchased the 3-D scanning and printing services at the Cubo toy store next door to his shop. With the old studio portrait supplanted by the selfie, 3-D scanning services provide a new reason for people to go to a store and stand stock-still in front of a camera. “The advent of digital cameras and smartphones killed the traditional mall portrait studio, but 3-D printing has sparked a new trend. Overloaded with digital photos, statues may be moving in to fulfill our desire for portraits that stand out”. – Peter Svensson via The Associated Press. (Photo by Julie Jacobson/AP Photo)
