Daredevil Christopher Gillette writhes around with a huge alligator he has saved from death. He works at a Florida sanctuary that rescues the wild beasts if they stroll into neighbourhoods where residents can legally kill them. The incredible photographs show the three alligators crowding around the man’s head as they look directly at the camera and one even appears to sit on his lap whilst another reptile places a claw on his arm as it swims towards the surface. An alligator is skinned at All American Gator August 16, 2006 in Pembroke Park, Florida. The company processes gators for their skins, meat and trophies and was at full capacity a day after the start of gator hunting season. This year more than 4,000 licenses were sold with each license allowing hunters to kill two gators. The hunt has been expanded by 41 days over previous years, running August 15 to November 1. American Alligator By Masa Ushioda

Brave photographer Masa Ushioda captured the shots of this wild gator in vast marsh land in the Everglades National Park, in Florida, USA. He said: “Bright sunlight and blue sky were critical elements in this picture – in addition to getting a wild 10-foot alligator in the middle of the viewfinder with a perfect angle”.
