The Week in Pictures: November 15 – November 22, 2014. Part 3/6

Artist Riad Al Radi (R), a Syrian refugee, and Egyptian carpenter Aref Ramadan show a cover from the giant Koran made entirely of wood in Irbid city, north of Amman November 18, 2014. Al Radi started the project in 2005 back in Syria, but progress was interrupted by the country's civil war. He resumed his project two years ago when meeting Ramadan in Irbid city, after arriving in Jordan with his family. The carpenter gave Al Radi free space at the shop to complete his project. Each wooden page of the massive Koran stretches 3.02m high and 1.85m wide, and weighs 100kg. Al Radi plans to enter his gigantic Koran in the Guinness World Records for the world's largest Koran made from wood. (Photo by Muhammad Hamed/Reuters)
