Pride of young lions circle the honey badger, on October 11, 2014, in Selinda Reserve, Botswana. Do not mess with this badger! The courageous mammal managed faced off against eight lions – and survived to tell the tale. Despite its size, the brave honey badger snapped at the bemused cats as they tried to catch an easy meal. But it soon became clear the eight felines had bitten off more than they could chew. Kane Motswana, a 34-year-old guide at the Selinda Reserve in Botswana, who watched the battle unfold, said: “The females initially ran towards the honey badger and the sub-adult males joined shortly after”.
