The Day in Photos – April 7, 2016. Part 1/2

People pay respect to the dead at Cape Collinson cemetery during the annual Ching Ming Festival in Chai Wan, Hong Kong, China, 04 April 2016. Ching Ming literally translates as “clean and bright”, and this is the day that Chinese people sweep the graves of their ancestors. The festival is an important ancestor worship ritual which also requires families to weed graves, touch up headstone inscriptions, make food offerings and light incense. (Photo by Alex Hofford/EPA)
