A yellow monitor lizard at a wetland in Chandpara in Kolkata, India. On 8 September 2015, 17 eggs were found in a hole of an earthen house. The eggs were kept in a plastic container which was ventilated and the humidity inside the container was maintained by spraying water. On 16 May, after eight months of finding these eggs,17 healthy yellow monitor lizards hatched out of the eggs. On the same day, the lizards were released in a wetland, in their natural habitat.
