Anti-Russian Protests in Kiev

Activists and supporters of Ukrainian nationalist groups burn tires during a rally to mark the third anniversary of the Euromaidan Revolution on the Independence Square in Kiev, Ukraine, 21 November 2016. About one thousand activists took park in the rally during which they burned tires on the Independence Square, destroyed the Russian bank Sberbank and broke windows in the office of a Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk, according to Ukrainian media. On 21 November 2013 activists started an anti-government picket after then-Prime Minister Mykola Azarov announced the suspension of a landmark treaty with the European Union. The protests eventually led to the ouster of President Viktor Yanukovych, creating political rifts through the country that erupted into a violent conflict between seperatists and government forces in the eastern part of the country in the spring.
