Angelo lives at the UN base in Malakal, South Sudan. A Shilluk and local resident of Malakal town, he fled to the base with his family in late 2013 when fighting erupted in the town between several residents of different ethnic groups. Living in a small tent in relative peace, there was an outbreak of fighting within the base in February 2016 resulting in nearly a third of the camp being burned to the ground, including Angelo’s home.
