Launching the Kazan, a Project 885 M Yasen- class nuclear- powered multipurpose attack submarine, at the Sevmash shipyard on March 31, 2017 in Severodvinsk, Russia, which has been under construction for the past eight years. It is is about 139 metres long, can submerge up to 600 meters under the sea and is capable of staying at sea for 100 days and carrying a crew of up to 90 men. The high tech sub is armed with eight chambers for holding cruise missiles and ten torpedo tubes carrying 30 torpedoes each.The cutting edge sub will be able to hit targets 1,500 miles away on land with pinpoint accuracy using cruise missiles – making it able to reach the East Coast of America.
