The Day in Photos – January 2, 2018, Part 1/2

Inhabitants of Duindorp, a fishing neighborhood in The Hague, build a thirty five meter high bonfire on the beach in The Hague on December 30, 2017. Tens of thousands of wooden pallets collected during the year and stored in secret locations are lifted and piled up until the evening of December 31. The New Year's Eve bonfire of Duindorp has been relocated on the beach in the nineties to restore peace in the neighborhood as violent brawls often erupted and many vehicles were set on fire.
