Students prepare to try their electric car prototype called Pyrforos at the Polytechnic School of Athens campus on March 6, 2018. The car designed in Athens has attracted the interest of the American manufacturer Tesla, who has debauched Greek engineers and will establish in Greece a research center: a symbolic innovation in a country stricken by almost 10 years of deep economic crisis. This vehicle has already been awarded several times in recent years in Shell's European Eco-Marathon competition, which aims to travel the longest distance with the least energy possible. Tesla announced at the end of February that it would establish near Athens a center of research and development of its engines.
