Open still-life and United States national award winner: Richard Frishman. This is an image of the buffet options at Jerry Mikeska’s Bar-BQ. “(It) accurately depicts a curious juxtaposition of food to prey. Jerry opened his restaurant in Columbus, Texas in 1956, following the tradition of his father and brothers”, according to Frishman. “Daddy was a meat man”, Jerry says. More than 200 taxidermied mounts decorate the walls, but the buffet steam table just comes out on Sunday. “I only shot a few of these”, Jerry said, “but I bought some more to make an impression”.
