Government and opposition members confront each other during the Parliamentary session in Colombo, Sri Lanka, 15 November 2018. Sri Lanka's legislature met amidst rising accusations of the Speaker being biased towards the ousted Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and his United National Party (UNP). Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa made a special statement explaining the current situation and suggested a general election. Following his statement, the UNP proposed that the opposition had no confidence in the Premier and his statement and called for a vote to which the Speaker agreed, thus throwing the House into an uproar and resulting in the Speaker walking out.
