Water rate at Lake Marmara dropped to 10 percent. Lake Marmara was listed a wetland with national importance as it hosted 20,000 birds including dalmatian pelican and pygmy cormorant species in 2017. Lake Marmara used to annually provide approximately 150 million cubic meters precipitation over Gediz Plain. It is reported that after the summer's heat water level at the lake dropped to a critical rate, with depth in some areas dropping to 50 centimeters, which is considered to be around 33 million cubic meters.
