Animals: Summer and Early Autumn 2012

A Paucidentomys vermidax, a new species of rat, that was found in the forests of southern Sulawesi Island, Indonesia August 23, 2012. The unique rat that lives off earthworms and doesn't chew or gnaw is the only rodent out of more than 2,200 known species that does not have molars and instead has bicuspid upper incisors.
