The Philippines on Monday eased one of the world's longest and strictest lockdowns in the world to curb the spread of the coronavirus, even as cases of the virus in the country continue to rise. The 80-day lockdown in parts of the country has left millions of Filipinos jobless and hungry, and even as free mass testing for COVID-19 remains absent in most parts of the country, there has been a spike in reported cases in the past week.
