Protesters march to commemorate international human rights day on December 10, 2020 in Manila, Philippines. Human rights group decry the continued human rights violations the course of the governments crackdown on activists and critics in the country. Human rights watchdog, Karapatan, has documented 353 victims of extrajudicial killings , 218 tortured, 18 enforced disappearances, and 103,193 individuals threatened and harassed. 656 political prisoners remain behind bars, with 426 detainees arrested under the Duterte administration alone. The government arrested Dennise Velasco, a trade union organizer and Lady Anne Salem, editor of alternative publication Manila Today critical to the government, in their respective homes on December 10.
