Bulgarian special forces from the 101st Alpine Regiment take part during the military-tactical exercise “Rhodopes – 21” in the Rhodope Mountain near the town of Smolan, Bulgaria, 19 March 2021. Joint training with the NATO Center for Research, Development and Improvement of Mountain Warfare Capabilities (NATO MW COE) in Slovenia “Rhodopes – 21” is held in order to increase interaction and interoperability of the participating formations in mountainous winter conditions at an altitude of over 2,000 m as well as to increase the tactical capabilities of the headquarters and formations of the 101st Alpine Regiment to survive in winter mountains.
