An Afghan man who was injured in a road accident receives medical treatment at a hospital in Kandahar, Afghanistan 01 February 2022. Traffic accidents have claimed the lives of 27 people and injured 721 others in the previous month, according to hospital officials in Kandahar's Mirwais Regional Hospital. Most accident victims are being treated in Kandahar Central Hospital's surgical ward, which previously treated war victims. According to health officials, 116 individuals have been killed and nearly 4000 injured in traffic accidents in Kandahar province's southern Kandahar region in the past six months.
