This acquisition did not come in a day, from 2004 when she took up onion seed cultivation on 20 decimals of land, and she got only two maunds which she sold for Tk 80,000. Next year it was 13 mounds, and she earned around Tk. 5.2 lac., and the next year she took lease of more land and attained 32 maunds and this practice continued for the following years. Many young men and women are being interested in cultivating onion seeds seeing Shahida Begum's work, she is an idol in her areas. Shahida Begum grabs many national awards for her contributions.
