Laborers sort cotton sacks at a factory in Kandahar, Afghanistan, 11 June 2022. According to the Kandahar Chamber of Commerce, there are 22 cotton processing factories in Kandahar Industrial Park, which produces around two thousand tons of cotton, which as well as the usual export to Pakistan, for the first time a major part of the cotton was exported to Iran and Turkey, and the rest used as raw material for the oil industry, animal feed and the soap industry.
