HILLSBORO, VA- JUN 26: Fireworks burst with color over the the Old Stone School in Hillsboro, Virginia on June 26, 2022. The Hillsboro Old Stone School was built in 1874 and is now is used for the city offices and public gatherings. Hillsboro celebrated Independence Day earlier than most towns so as to not compete with many other local jurisdictions that will be having fireworks shows in the coming days. The event included a reading of the Declaration of Independence and several music acts but the highlight was the fireworks show that closed out the night. (Photo by Michael S.
