A Look at Life in Bangladesh

Farmers are seen floating through an over 40 square kilometers canal and collecting the Water Lilies in Satla Union, Barishal Division in Bangladesh on August 10, 2022. Workers are seen working from very early in the morning from 6-8 am in the canal wearing handmade Head caps to protect their head and body for the tremendous heat of the sun. The farmers would sell the delicate bright pink blooms at Local market. Pink lilies and green lily pads cover the over 10,000-acre canal and wetlands area in Barishal Division, Bangladesh. Every flower is carefully hand-picked and collected inside the farmers' little wooden boat. The flowers only bloom at a specific time during of seasonal flood starting from August to November.
