“Horseboarding” competitors taking to the turf to demonstrate their skills in the thrilling extreme sport on June 2, 2023. The teams – comprising a boarder, rider and a horse – were participating in the third round of the UK Championships at the Yorkshire Game & Country Fair. The sport was only invented in 2004 and requires entrants to complete a slalom-style course in the shortest amount of time while being towed by a galloping steed. Competitions normally take place over two days on separate courses, with contestants penalised with time penalties if they touch a gate as they travel across rough terrain.
