A Look at Life in Afghanistan

Around 530 Afghan recovering addicts have successfully graduated from technical and vocational training centers in Afghanistan. These centers, including tailoring, electricity, and shoemaking, are part of 52 educational facilities under the control of the Islamic Emirate. Aimed at educating, treating, and rehabilitating drug addicts, these institutions cater to around 20,000 individuals annually. However, with an estimated 2 million people addicted to drugs in the country, there is a pressing need for more resources and support. The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has set goals to provide assistance to various vulnerable sections of society, including children, the elderly, unemployed youth, widows, and orphaned children. Despite financial constraints due to government funding blockades from foreign countries, the Islamic Emirate urges all institutions to prioritize the well-being of drug addicts.
