Despite their sharp teeth, here is a golden jackal eating plant leaves in a forest without getting meat types of food at Tehatta, West Bengal, India on November 8, 2023. The golden jackal (Canis aureus) – the largest of the jackals – resembles a small wolf, but with a comparatively more slender build, shorter legs, and a shorter tail. Lack of food and shelter, and the pressure of urbanization have reduced jackals' habitat. An omnivore is an organism that eats a variety of other organisms, including plants, animals, and fungi.
