A darter bird showing off by flipping its dinner in the air only for the fish to be lost in the water in Chandigarh, India in the last decade of October 2023. Pictures show the darter bird successfully catching its dinner before flipping the fish over to go down its gullet the right way – until the fish escapes to live another day and the darter flops into the water in defeat. The darter is known for having a long and slender neck with a straight, pointed bill and, like the cormorant, it hunts for fish while its body is submerged in water.
