USA last Week, Part 2/3

Death Valley in east California has exploded in colour as the yellow desert gold wildflower (Geraea canescens) bloom in a rare event. The rare event in the first decade of April 2024 has seen the ordinarily desolate national park burst into flower, with yellow desert gold wildflowers dominating the landscape in remarkable fashion. Death Valley is the hottest place on earth and the driest place in North America, with temperatures recorded as high as 134 degrees Fahrenheit (56.7 degrees Celsius).
