Sumaia Abdullah Louqye, 4, (L) looks as the father of Nada Mokbel Louqye, 5, shows the scars on her back, sustained in a 2009 U.S missile attack, in the mountainous village of al-Ma'jalah, in the southern Yemeni province of Abyan February 2, 2013. The two girls are the only survivors among the members of their families that were living in a rural community at the time that it was hit by a U.S. missile strike in December 17, 2009, according to local authorities. Nada's father, who is also the grandfather of Sumaia, was out herding his camels during the attack, and is the only family member left for the two girls. The attack left 41 people, including 21 children and 14 women dead in the highest civilian death toll of any U.S. strike in Yemen to date, according to an Amnesty International report.
