The Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio welcomed more than 12,000 honey bees to two hives in designated pollinator gardens at the Franklin County Sanitary Landfill in Grove City on May 29, 2024. Currently, SWACO has almost two acres of pollinator gardens on its property, with plans to expand in the coming years. The bees will work to help enhance pollination within the gardens and surrounding land to increase biodiversity. (Photo by Barbara J. Perenic/Columbus Dispatch via USA TODAY Network)
