In 2023, the aquarium treated 394 sea turtles, washed ashore in Cape Cod Bay after becoming trapped in the cold water and becoming cold-stunned. The aquarium can house about 60-70 turtles and sends the overflow to other facilities. Loggerhead, Green and Kemp’s ridley sea turtles are all listed as an endangered species.
